Wit (Intelligence) has embarked on a quest to win the hand of Lady Science (Knowledge). On the way he encounters and is slain by the giant Tediousness (Boredom). He is brought back to life by Honest Recreation and her servants. She invites him to dance. Unfortunately too much Honest Recreation exhausts him and he falls into the lap of Idleness.
